Syed,Tariq Mahmood has 42 years of journalism career to his credit. From a reporter to editor of different magazines, he has enjoyed almost each slot and has a thorough knowledge of newspaper industry. During his career, he has an honor of working with such senior journalists like Munoo Bhai, Irshad Ahmad Haqqani, Zia Shahid, Nazeer Naji, M.Shafaat and so many other big names.
Syed Tariq Mahmood started his career from Lahore as an editor of a transporters magazine WAQIAAT and then got attached renowned newspaper MAGHRIBI PAKISTAN, LAHORE, where he had an honor to work with senior journalist M.Shafaat. He akso served weekly UJALA, LAHORE, as well as literary magazine monthly, MEHFIL, LAHORE and worked under the supervision of renowned personality, Tufail Hoshiarpuri.
Syed Tariq Mahmood had also been associated with the renowned lawyer, Aitzaz Ahsan's father, Ahsan Alig in weekly magazine, TAMEER I WATAN, LAHORE. Then he joined daily, JANG, LAHORE, AND IN 1983 he went to ARAB NEWS, Jeddah and remained there for 25 years. He worked there almost in all the capacities. There he have had also a chance to work in the world renowned women magazines in English and Arabic. He had also been attached with Radio Jeddah.
Now a days Syed Tariq Mahmood is residing in U.K and have an eye on all the international affairs. Now he will work enthusiastically for the BURNCARE WELFARE SOCIETY, LAHORE i.e all the promotional and fund raising activities in U.K. So many senior pakistani journalists will accompany him in S.M,Taqweem's (founder/president) project and a noble cause of ailing humanity i.e establishment of a first ever burn hospital of the pakistan, at Lahore. (NABEEHA TAQWEEM BURN CENTRE, (NTBC) with the help of philanthropists and fund rasising.
